These terms cover scarletthreadbible.com and the videos we publish. They are meant to be read, so they are short.

Who we are

scarletthreadbible.com and the channel The Scarlet Thread are run by J&B Creations LLC, Michigan, USA. You can reach us at hello@scarletthreadbible.com.

Using the site

You may read, link to, quote and share anything here for personal, church, classroom or study use, including printing a transcript for a group. We ask only that you quote us accurately and say where it came from.

Please do not republish whole scripts or videos as your own work, re-upload our videos to another channel, use this material to train a model, or scrape the site in bulk. If you want to do something that is not clearly covered here, write and ask. The answer is usually yes.

Our own words, the videos, the artwork and the name The Scarlet Thread belong to J&B Creations LLC. Scripture does not, and the next section says whose it is.

Scripture copyright

We quote two translations, and each quote on this site is labelled (ESV) or (LSB) so you can see which one it came from. Quotations appear inside the transcript of the video that discusses them. We do not publish a searchable Bible, a verse index or any page whose purpose is to reproduce Scripture on its own.

YouTube

The videos are hosted on YouTube and this site embeds them and shows information about them, such as titles and publication dates. That information comes from YouTube's public RSS feed.

The tools we use to manage our YouTube channel use YouTube API Services to upload and manage our own videos and read our own channel statistics, and they reach only our own channel. This website does not use YouTube API Services and does not ask visitors to sign in with Google.

By using those parts of the site you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of any data it collects is described in the Google Privacy Policy. What we collect, and what we do not, is set out in our own privacy policy.

Teaching, not counsel

This is a teaching channel. It is not a church, and nothing here is legal, medical, financial or professional advice, or pastoral care for your particular situation. If you are in difficulty, please speak to a pastor at a local church, or to a professional.

No warranties

The site and the videos are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise the site will always be available, or that every page will be free of errors.

We try hard to handle Scripture carefully and to get our facts right. If we have made a mistake, write and tell us and point to the text, and we will correct it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, J&B Creations LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or the videos.

Links out

We link to YouTube, to the texts of the confession and the catechism, and to the publishers of the translations we quote. Those sites are not ours and we are not responsible for them.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA.
